Symphonies and automatic gunfire.

Recently, with my new speaker system, I have been listening constantly (and possibly to the frustration of my roomate - my one roomate, since the other has not moved in) to the Beethoven symphonies. Due to the subwoofer, which measures approximately one cubic foot, and the great speakers, the sound fidelity and the range of sounds is great. Symphony 1's Adagio Molto just ended, and I almost wet my pants. They're all great (of course, the ever-recognizeable Op. 21 Allegro con brio). I think, if I had a chance to conduct just once, I would conduct a Beethoven symphony.

The thing about classical music is that there are often very low quiets and very loud highs. This means, that if you're into it--there's possibly a greater chance of just sitting there and listening to music for a few hours. This also means, that if you're not into it, there's no way to adjust the speakers so that the music is quiet all the time. Putting speakers on super-low will mean, not being able to hear it sometimes, and having to turn it down even lower other times.

Now that I have these speakers, I also regret uninstalling Unreal Tournament 2004 (to an extent). I wish I could come back home and relax to the sound of automatic gunfire. I can't get drunk, I don't want to smoke, I'd rather not shoot heroin into my veins--so I should be able to shoot bullets into other people's veins (and arteries. I might add that these people, unlike real people, do regenerate--so I am NOT prone to becoming a sociopath).

In any case, starting next week I will hopefully be able to have a nice time every Tuesday and Thursday--ah.

Well this is semi-public after all.
